A VERY STRONG LADY

This was an unbelievably strong lady to endure the things I later learned she endured. Being a gospel musician myself back in that era trust me, we weren't flying from place to place like they do now. Even though I was much younger it would still ware on me. Here tonight, there tomorrow night, sometimes 3 to 4 nights in a row with many miles in between. The true definition of hit and run.

No she was not my birth mother, just my stepmother, but you couldn't tell her that. Hey she would even tell my mother I was her child.  She also sang in the gospel group with my father, and wherever she went she would be proud to introduce me as her son.

THE STRONGEST LADY I KNEW:

                                              

   I'm proud to be called your child, Certainly going to miss your warm smile. I'm sorry you had to go through the things you went through, how you handled yourself makes you THE STRONGEST LADY I KNEW.

 So glad you're happy in your new home, I know you will never ever again be alone. So glad we spoke a couple weeks before, but so sad as I feel that's what you were waiting for.                                

                  It took courage and strength to share with me the things you did, knowing most around you wanted to keep it hid. Now Maya Angelo, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman were all strong too, I write these words for THE STRONGEST LADY I KNEW. I named those names  just to name a few, There are many others, but you're THE STRONGEST LADY I KNEW. THE STRONGEST LADY I EVER KNEW.
